Stolen Audi rams police car in Dudley after trying to hide from helicopter

A stolen Audi rammed a police car when it was tracked to a Black Country driveway by a helicopter.

The Audi Q3 was spotted by the police helicopter being driven in Dudley on Sunday.

Officers followed the car until it stopped on a drive in an attempt to blend in.

When officers arrived, the Audi rammed a police car twice but could not get off the drive.

Two men, aged 23 and 16, were arrested at the scene.

Liam Edmunds, 23, of the Mews, Smethwick, was driving the car and has since pleaded guilty to criminal damage, driving without a licence and aggravated vehicle taking.

He has been remanded in custody to be sentenced at Wolverhampton Crown Court on April 13.

Meanwhile the 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with aggravated vehicle taking. He is due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on April 7 and is currently on police bail.
