Man, 41, to stand trial accused of sexually assaulting seven-year-old girl

A 41-year-old man will stand trial accused of sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl.

Raja Mohammed Abbas, from Dudley, denied the offence at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

He has been kept in custody ahead of a trial date scheduled for March 22.

Mohammed appeared over video link as part of a plea and trial preparation hearing on Tuesday.

Judge Michael Chambers QC told the defendant: "I'm required to warn you that if you chose not to attend the trial it may proceed in your absence and you may be unrepresented."
