Appeal after latest theft from car at Danescourt Cemetery
People have been urged to remain vigilant after a handbag was stolen from a car at a Wolverhampton burial ground.
A credit card, mobile phone and cash were taken from a black BMW X5 at Danescourt Cemetery while the victim was visiting a grave.
The offender took the items after gaining entry to the car through unknown means, West Midlands Police said.
The incident took place at the cemetery off Wergs Road, Tettenhall, on Saturday at 10.30am.
It comes after an incident on December 23 where a handbag containing similar items were also taken.
Officers are now stepping up patrols in a bid to deter the crime – with a team from Tettenhall patrolling the grounds yesterday.
PCSO Helen Dryer, a member of the neighbourhood team, said: "Please be vigilant when visiting the area and make sure that you secure your vehicle."
Anyone with information is asked to contact West Midlands Police on 101, quoting crime reference number 20WV/306771Z/19.
