West Midlands Police want to speak to these two men

A woman has described the moment a masked thug held a zombie knife to her chest during an attempted car-jacking.

The 71-year-old pensioner was fixing bikes to the roof of her VW Golf alongside her husband when two masked men on a scooter pulled up on their drive in Stevens Road, Pedmore, Stourbridge.

Police have released an image of two suspects riding a scooter and are urging anyone who recognises them to come forward and contact officers.

The wife, who did not wish to be named, said: “We were putting our bicycles on the roof of the car as we were going out the next morning and this scooter comes along with two lads and one jumped off.

“He was saying ‘keys Mrs, keys Mrs’, and jabbing the knife against my chest.”

It comes as officers investigating the attack have released an image of two people they want to speak to.

The pair had only moved to the area from the Wirral a year ago to be closer to their family.

The couple were threatened by thieves wielding a zombie knife, similar to this weapon above, at their home in Stevens Road, below

The husband and wife ran into the house through a side door but the man met them in their living room after walking in the front door.

It was then that he threw a glass vase at the couple before hitting them with the metal legs of a dining chair. The husband picked up a second dining chair and fought back.

“It was very bad, we could’ve been killed,” the wife said.

She managed to stop the culprit by promising to give him the keys, which she said were in the hallway.

But by the time he got to the hallway neighbours had heard the commotion and had flocked to the scene.

The woman said: “I said to him ‘look, if you calm down I’ll get you the keys’ I thought if I get him in the hall I could kick him out the front door. All the neighbours came because they heard it, he was shouting and screaming.

“He saw one of he neighbours in the hallway and he jumped on the back of the scooter and he was away.”

The pair were checked over by paramedics and interviewed by police after the incident, which happened at around 3pm on Monday.

The wife added: “We’ve got a couple of cuts and bruises, but he could’ve killed us. He was a raving lunatic. It was a serrated knife, the police said it was a zombie knife.”

Anyone with information can call police on 101.
