Manchester man charged with gun possession and false imprisonment after Wolverhampton raid
A man is set to appear in court charged with blackmail, possession of a sawn-off shotgun and false imprisonment after a police raid in Wolverhampton.
Reece Gordon, of Whitburn Road in Manchester, will appear before Walsall Magistrates Court after West Midlands Police raided the property in Wolverhampton on December 27 and discovered firearms.
West Midlands Police have not confirmed where in Wolverhampton the raid took place.
The raid was part of Operation Yawbridge, which aims to take firearms off the streets in the region.
So far, 135 firearms have been seized by the force.
Inspector Phil Cape, who leads Operation Yawbridge, said: “The force is committed to cracking down on the use of firearms and tackling organised crime.
"And the success of our operation has seen a 21 per cent reduction in the number of reported firearms discharges across the region and a 32 per cent reduction in Birmingham alone."
