Three men are thought to have broken into Home Bargains on Stafford Street through the back of the store.

They then lay in wait until the employees arrived to start work at around 7am on Saturday.

One of the raiders was carrying a metal crow bar which he used to attack a member of staff and threaten others. The injured person was struck on an arm.

Staff were then forced to hand over an unspecified amount of cash from the safe before being locked inside an office. The robbers escaped with the money.

West Midlands Police asked anyone with information about the incident and those responsible for the robbery to contact officers on 101 giving reference 20WV/237333K/17.
