Shots fired at house in Birmingham

Shots were fired at a house in Birmingham, sparking a police investigation.

The alarm was raised in the early hours of this morning after a loud bang was heard by the occupants of a house in Spring Road, Tyseley, and a hole discovered in the front door.

Police said the hole is believed to be consistent with a gunshot.

Part of the road is cordoned off this morning as forensic experts comb the area.

Detectives have spoken to residents and began trawling CCTV.

A dark coloured vehicle is thought to have been in the area around the time of the shooting at 12.40am, with officers appealing for anyone with information to call 101 quoting 20BE/182815G/17.
