'Dr Evil' extreme body artist in court over ear removal and tongue splitting
An extreme body artist has appeared before magistrates charged with crimes relating to splitting a tongue, removing an ear and removing a nipple.
Brendan McCarthy is accused of three counts of causing serious injury relating to consensual body modification procedures at his 'Dr Evils Body Modification Emporium' in Princess Alley, which is off Princess Street, in the city centre.
The charges relate to the removal of a client's ear, removal of a client's nipple and tongue splitting procedures.


McCarthy, of Morton Road, Bushbury, appeared before magistrates in Walsall today.
The 47-year-old faces three counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and three alternative counts of wounding without intent.
The alleged offences are said to have taken place between August 2012 and July 2015.
McCarthy spoke only to confirm his name, age and address. He will next appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on March 3.
His salon is also known as 'Punctured Body Piercing & Modification.'
