'Monster' boyfriend beat partner and stopped her wearing make-up or using social media
A violent boyfriend was described as a 'monster' by the woman he controlled and beat to the point that she ended up in hospital, a court was told.

Mitchell Bain's behaviour included deciding when his girlfriend had a bath, choosing her clothes, stopping her wearing make-up or using social media, and ordering that she send him photos every half an hour while she was out.
He even used to tell her he kept a gun in his bedside table.
The court heard about three assaults Bain committed against his partner who he now cannot contact.
On May 18 the window fitter pushed her and threw an ash tray at her and then on July 8 he attacked her after a night out.
The worst incident was on July 11, when he pushed her forward so that she fell face down on the stairs, before grabbing her hair and slamming her head against the stairs so she lost consciousness.
She awoke and after contacting a friend went to hospital where she was suffering from mild concussion.
As well as three counts of assault, 20-year-old Bain admitted a charge of engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour in an intimate relationship between January 1 and July 12 this year. He was sentenced to 14 weeks in prison suspended for 18 months.
After meeting in September 2014, the couple moved in together.
Prosecutor Mrs Maggie Meakin said: "He told her that he had a gun that he used to keep in the bedside table. "
Mrs Meakin added: "He stopped her seeing her best friend. He wouldn't allow her to use social media or wear make-up. She had to send him pictures every half an hour when ever she was out."
Mrs Meakin also read out the 20-year-old victim's statement: "You had become a monster," she said.
Representing Bain, who lives on St James Road in Cannock, Mr Mohammed Khan said the gun was a legally held BB gun. He must pay £200 in compensation and costs of £620.
