Police chase suspects through crowded Birmingham streets during dramatic pursuit

A suspected stolen car was driven through a crowded Birmingham city centre with police in pursuit to the shock of onlookers.

The dramatic chase unfolded today as police spotted a group travelling in the car and began tailing it.

But soon the car was forced to stop due to damage, in Temple Street, just before 2pm in front of stunned shoppers.

Four men jumped out from the car only to be chase on foot by police down New Street.

A woman was knocked to the floor by one of the men as they fled leaving her injured.

She was taken to hospital with a minor head injury.

Two men were arrested but officers continue to search for the two other men who ran from the vehicle.

The car has been seized for forensic examination and inquiries are on-going.
