Mansoor Mahmood, of Bague Walk, Brierley Hill, died in hospital after staggering into Dixi Chicken on Brierley Hill High Street with stab wounds shortly before 5pm on October 15.

Today an inquest in Oldbury heard the 24-year-old was a married man who cared for his wife.

Prime murder suspect Niron Parker-Lee

Joanne Stokes, senior coroner's officer, said: "Mr Mahmood was married to Aisha Akhtar, born April 23 1992, and was a carer for his wife."

Police last week revealed their prime suspect is 19-year-old Niron Parker-Lee.

He was described as dangerous and should not be approached by members of the public. He has not yet been found.

Ms Stokes told the inquest that a provisional cause of death has been given as a stab wound to the chest.

Setting out what happened to Mr Mahmood, she said: "The police were requested to attend an incident where a male had been stabbed at Dixi Chicken in High Street, Brierley Hill.

"The male was identified as Mr Mahmood. He had been stabbed in the stomach following an altercation.

"The offender had fled the scene prior to police arriving.

"Mr Mahmood was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, where despite all medical efforts he had suffered severe blood loss which caused him cardiac arrest.

"He was pronounced deceased at 18:53."

A murder investigation is ongoing and Ms Stokes said it was still in the early stages of information gathering.

She added there are a number of witnesses still to be seen and there had been a second post-mortem.

Coroner Zafar Siddique adjourned the inquest until December 19.

Any sightings of suspect Parker-Lee should be reported to police immediately on 999.
