Heartless carer stole £20,000 from dementia sufferer
A carer has been jailed for two years for stealing more than £20,000 from a dementia sufferer she was supposed to be looking after.
Rachael Robinson, 30, was caught after relatives of the victim, 87, realised £12,000 had been withdrawn from her account over several transactions.
CCTV of the transactions taking place at a Post Office was examined and identified Robinson taking the cash on July 5, 12, 15 and 17 last year.
Robinson claimed she was doing her own banking in the images, but records proved she was lying.

Dc Richard Taberner said: "Robinson made out it was merely a co-incidence that she was at the Post Office the same time the fraudulent withdrawals were made.
In total, Robinson, of Davenport Drive, Castle Vale, Birmingham, stole £20,400 and admitted theft at Birmingham Crown Court.
Dc Taberner added: "Robinson is a cruel and heartless thief, who took advantage of an 87-year-old dementia sufferer. The victim was unaware of the fraud and unable to provide evidence herself.
"Thankfully her family were looking out for her and were able to work out what was happening and alert the police so that Robinson could be finally be stopped."
