Two more 'Syria terror' arrests in Walsall as police continue to hold brothers
Two more men from Walsall have been arrested on suspicion of Syria-related terrorism offences today.
The pair, both aged 26, have been held as part of an on-going operation which also saw the arrests of two brothers in the borough on Tuesday.
Those men, aged 25 and 32, remain in police custody today and are not believed to be related to the pair arrested today.
Officers are not revealing where in the borough the arrests were made, but there was a police search in Earl Street, Palfrey, today as part of the operation.
Police have been given five more days to question the pair arrested on Tuesday, having been granted a warrant for further detention under anti-terrorism legislation.
Detectives from the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit appeared before London's Westminster Magistrates Court via video link yesterday to submit their warrant request. Police now have until the morning of Tuesday January 19 to question the brothers.

West Midlands Police spokesman Lee Page said: "The offences under investigation all related to terrorism activity connected to Syria.
"Officers are this morning carrying out searches at a number of addresses in the Walsall area associated with the suspects.
"The arrests were intelligence led and there was no immediate threat to public safety."
