Officers executed a warrant at Angels night club in West Bromwich High Street.

They arrested a string of men for offences surrounding drugs and possession of offensive weapons.

Michal Mickiewicz, aged 31, from Crankhall Lane, West Bromwich was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine. A second man, Dariusz Moszczynski, aged 34, from Pytchley House, Handsworth Wood, was charged with possessing a knife, blade or sharply pointed article. Both men will appear at Sandwell Magistrates Court on January 9.

Three other men were arrested after tasers and canisters of CS spray items classed as 'firearms' were found during a search of the premises. The men, aged 23, 36 and 38, were released on police bail while inquiries continue. In addition, three women, aged 20, 25 and 27, and a 31-year-old man were cautioned for possession of cocaine.

In a further search of an address in Holly Lane, Smethwick, officers seized a motorbike and a suspected stolen BMW X3.

West Bromwich neighbourhood Inspector Akeel Najib led the operation.

He said: "We have received numerous complaints from concerned residents about activity surrounding the club.

"As part of our investigation we will also be looking at the licensing practice at the club and will be taking this to a review later this week.

"We would continue to encourage residents across the area to speak to us if they suspect drug use or any suspicious activity is happening in their neighbourhood."
