Cannabis seized in police raids at three Staffordshire homes

Police swooped on three homes, including two in Great Wyrley, seizing cannabis worth more than £60,000.

Officers raided the addresses in Great Wyrley and Cannock as part of a crackdown on drugs.

Cannabis with a street value of £35,000 was discovered at a property in Cannock Road, Chadsmoor yesterday, and a 45-year-old man was arrested and released on bail pending further enquiries.

It follows raids in Great Wyrley in which cannabis worth a total of £26,000 was seized.

A 30-year-old woman was arrested after police swooped on an address in Tower View Road, while a 22-year-old man was also detained when plants were seized in Brooklands Avenue. Both have been bailed pending further inquiries.

Chief Inspector Carl Ratcliffe, local policing commander for Cannock Chase, said Staffordshire Police was committed to continuing the fight against drug dealing.
