Bloxwich ammunition find not terror-related
An investigation into the discovery of military-style ammunition at the home of a nurse is not thought to be terror-related, police have said.
West Midlands Police also said the discovery of bullets and a substance believed to be a form of plastic explosive was not connected to any recent offences in its force area.
Bomb disposal officers were called out to a property in Station Road, Bloxwich, near Walsall, after a firearms warrant was executed by police last Thursday.
A police spokesman said 47-year-old Paul Morris, who works as a nurse, had been charged with possessing a shotgun without a certificate, as well as prohibited armour-piercing ammunition and expanding ammunition.
Morris, of Station Street, appeared before magistrates in Walsall yesterday and was ordered to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on February 19.
