Officers have stepped up patrols on the Carters Green area of the High Street in a bid to stamp out anti social behaviour.

It comes after reports of men drinking and begging in the area.

As part of Operation Holston oficers have been using dispersal orders in the town centre and stepping up patrols in known alcohol-related crime hotspots.

Since the operation began 67 Section 27 notices have been issued, which allow officers to disperse people from an area for 48 hours.

If they return to the exclusion zone within that period they can be arrested.

Exclusion area maps have also been produced.
