Suspected stolen transit van is driven into fishing lake

A suspected stolen van was driven into the lake of a popular fishing pool at a Black Country park.

The white Transit van was spotted floating in the water at Willenhall Memorial Park.

Recovery specialists were called in to remove it and a police investigation has been launched. Two men, aged 16 and 18, were arrested and officers have issued an app-eal for anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.

Lee Page, spokesman for West Midlands Police, said: "It happened at around 4am on Tuesday. A Transit van was found in the water. Two people were arrested nearby, two men aged 18 and 16. They have been arrested on suspicion of theft in relation to the van and also burglary."

The pair remain in custody and are being quizzed by police.
