Elizabeth Salt, aged 60, pleaded guilty at Cannock Magistrates Court to being the owner of a dog and allowing it to be dangerously out of control in a public place and causing injury outside her home at Villa Farm in Dunston, Stafford.
Claire Jones, who had been walking her own husky dog, suffered bruising when she was bitten on her calf and leg after Salt's collie, named Max, escaped from her home.
Salt was handed a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £50 compensation, £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
