Police on the scene after car burnt out and second vehicle damaged in Bridgnorth
The blaze occurred in the early hours of Sunday
An estate car was completely burnt out and another vehicle damaged following a fire in Bridgnorth in the early hours of Sunday (July 19).
Police and firefighters attended the scene of the blaze in Paulbrook Road, High Town, just after 1.45am.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said the incident involved one estate vehicle that was “completely destroyed by fire”, adding that an adjacent vehicle suffered superficial damage.
The blaze was extinguished by fire crews in breathing apparatus.
A spokesperson for the fire service said the crew called the police after receiving information at the scene.
The fire service said: “On arrival one estate vehicle was fully involved in fire, with a second vehicle being affected by heat. Crews quickly deployed two firefighters in breathing apparatus to control and extinguish the fire, paying attention to the second vehicle so stop the fire spreading to it fully.
“Information was given to the officer in charge, which meant he requested the attendance of the police. Once fully extinguished and the area checked, we left the scene for the police to investigate.”
West Mercia Police has been approached for further comment.
