The thriving social regeneration project, located at the end of Canal Street next to Stourbridge Canal and the River Stour, is set to play host to a variety of local performers, including musicians and poets, on Saturday September 12, from 2pm to 8pm.

Busking for Charity is a fundraising collective supported by Black Country Radio, Black Country Xtra and Gig Caritas, which raises cash for worthy local causes.

The fundraiser at Riverside House is open to everyone, and guests are invited to bring chairs, blankets and picnics to settle between the canal and river for an afternoon and evening of music nestled in nature under open skies.

Although free to attend, all donations will be welcomed and will go directly towards supporting several local causes - Riverside House itself, Wolverhampton MS Therapy and Oxygen Centre, Tough Enough To Care, Sandwell Visually Impaired and the Dudley Group NHS Charity.

Food and drinks will be available to buy on-site throughout the day.

Claire Price, operations manager at Riverside House - which is a Community Interest Company (CIC), said: “It's going to be a brilliant event.

“The Busking for Charity guys have put a whole host of acts together. I think we've got about 26 different acts over the afternoon and evening, so people are welcome to walk through the gate off the towpath and come and see who's playing.

“There's also going to be some poetry. The cafe will be open. There’ll be cold beer as well, so it'll be a really nice afternoon.”
