Around 45 permanent jobs are expected to created at the garage and shop at The Gateway, next to the A449 and Junction 2 of the M54.

Euro Garages will be based on the 0.4-acre site next to Jaguar Land Rover’s i54 engine plant in the north of the city, where it will develop a new filling station and convenience store.

The garage will neighbour Costa Coffee, which opened in July last year, and a Porsche dealership.

Noel Muscutt, partner at commercial property specialist Bulleys, said: “We’re delighted to have struck such a ground-breaking structure of a deal with Euro Garages, a premium operator in the roadside sector.

“We have previously brought a smart Porsche dealership and a busy Costa Coffee drive-through to The Gateway, and this deal with Euro Garages will now complete the re-development of what was formerly an eyesore patch of unused land.”

Phil Bartleet, acquisitions surveyor at Euro Garages, said: “This is exactly the kind of opportunity which Euro Garages like to develop, with plenty of passing traffic, nearby businesses and space.

“This EG development will be a destination for commuters and local residents to fill-up their tanks, make convenience purchases and enjoy our extensive Food to Go range.

“We aim to have completed construction by year-end and are looking forward to operating this new roadside development.”

David Kay, a director at land owner Ask Developments, said: “We are pleased that Bulleys, together with development partner Trebor Development, has brought such a prestigious client as Euro Garages to The Gateway, which has become a real gem in our portfolio in this region.”
