Midlands Perspectives launch event

The Midlands Economic Forum is holding an event in Birmingham on February 11 to launch its latest Midlands Perspectives.

The free event is taking place in the offices of DLA Piper, Victoria Square House, Victoria Square, from 12 noon.

The same day the ONS will release the GDP data for December and IHS Markit will release the first NatWest Regional purchasing managers' index of 2019, providing an indication of how the regional economy has begun the year.

There will be discussion of regional economic trends in 2018 and prospects for the region in 2019.

The panel will feature Fred Haynes, assistant economist at the Office of National Statistics; Phil Smith, principal economist at IHS Markit and Paul Forrest, head of research for the forum.
