High speed rail event in Birmingham

A free event in Birmingham will be discussing the importance of high sped rail.

The UK-Japan Symposium on High Speed Rail is being held on September 21 from 9.30am to 5pm in the Birmingham Centre for Railway Research and Education, Pritchatts Road.

It is being run by the University of Birmingham's School of Engineering, University of Birmingham

The aims is to attract more than 60 participants from academia, rail industry, governments and suppliers.

There will be speakers from Japan and the UK including Professor Akira Matsumoto of Nihon University.
