New construction insights forum
Risk management and insurance broking advisers, JLT Specialty, who have offices in Birmingham, are launching a quarterly Midlands Construction Insights Forum, with international law firm Eversheds Sutherland.
The aim of the forum is to attract members from the region’s construction, property development and advisory communities who want to keep up-to-date with the latest developments in the construction and development industry, as well as discussing potential risks to businesses in this fast-paced sector.
The first in a series of breakfast seminars is due to take place on May 22 at JLT Specialty’s offices on Church Street in Birmingham and will focus on main contractor insolvency.
Henry Gallacher development executive at JLT Specialty, said: “The forum will provide a network for like-minded individuals, to share experiences and best practice. We aim to cover current topics about potential risks to businesses in the construction sector, as well as updates on legal issues. Businesses in the supply chain can be directly impacted by the larger contractors, and we have seen this in the recent demise of Carillion. Having a clear understanding of potential issues and risks, and how best to protect against them or avoid them altogether is key for the future success of these businesses.”
