Free seminar on skills and apprenticeships
Skills and apprenticeships will be the focus of the next Manufacturing Business Network meeting at Crowe Clark Whitehill’s Midlands office in Oldbury
The national audit, tax and advisory firm is hosting the free seminar on Tuesday, June 13 in its Black Country House office on Rounds Green Road.
Skills Planning and How to Make Apprenticeships Work For You will feature David Woakes, group business development manager at Jonathan Lee Recruitment, and Gareth Jones, managing director at In-Comm Training and Business Services.
Johnathan Dudley, Mmanaging partner at Crowe’s Midlands office and national head of manufacturing, said: “This meeting will be of great value to manufacturers who need to plan more skills for the future and who are interested in the benefits of apprenticeships.
“We’re delighted to be joined by David Woakes and Gareth Jones who will be discussing how to identify and plan for the skills needed across manufacturing, and how to use apprenticeship funding and the new apprenticeship levy to help address skills shortages and development.
“It will be fascinating both to listen to them and to learn from industrialists’ real-life experience of skills and apprenticeships in the region’s manufacturing world.”
The free Manufacturing Business Network meeting takes place from 8.30am to 10am and will be followed by an informal networking breakfast.
Mr Jones said: “There has never been a better time for companies to invest in apprenticeships, with the new levy and trailblazer reforms giving employers the opportunity to shape training that matches their exact needs.
“And the good news is we can help them do just that, providing a complete managed service and access to our state-of-the-art centres in Aldridge, Shrewsbury and the soon to be launched Marches Centre of Manufacturing and Technology (MCMT) in Bridgnorth.”
