'A cancer diagnosis pushed me towards something I’ve always loved and so I decided to go for my dreams and open a book shop in Staffordshire'
The owner of a new independent bookshop has spoken about following her dreams and creating a welcoming space for all.
Charley Reeves-Hughes is getting ready to open The Bookery on Saturday at Amerton Farm, set between Weston and Hixon, at 11am.
The new shop can be found inside the farm shop and is full of different types of books and genres, as well as areas to sit down and read.
Ms Reeves-Hughes said the idea of the shop had come after receiving some life-changing news and deciding to just go for it.

She said: "The Bookery didn’t start as a business idea, but started after a cancer diagnosis for blood cancer, which was news that has a way of making you reassess everything.
