Management buy out completed at Black Country IT firm
A management buy out (MBO) has been completed at Black Country IT firm Wem Tech Solutions.
The company, established in 2013 in Brierley Hill, provides outsourced IT support and technology services to a wide range of clients.
With a strong reputation in the industry and a loyal customer base, the business has experienced significant growth over the past decade.
Co-founder Adam Whitehall has taken control of the business after buying out fellow founder Oliver Ellis-Middleton.
The transaction was led by Ellie Wilcockson, corporate finance executive at Hawsons Corporate Finance, with legal advice provided by Rory Conwill, of BRM Solicitors, and funding for the transaction provided by Kingsway, with support from Chris Mangle, of Custom Business Finance.
Mr Whitehall said: “This deal marks an important milestone for Wem Tech Solutions. I am proud of what Ollie and I built together, and excited to take the business forward under my sole leadership as we enter our next chapter.
"With a clear vision and strong focus, I’m committed to building on our existing foundations and continuing to deliver long-term value for our clients. I want to thank everybody who was involved in the completion of this deal, especially the team at Hawsons. Ellie’s support throughout the process was extremely helpful."
Ms Wilcockson said: “Wem Tech Solutions is an excellent example of a founder-led business which has grown at pace, building a loyal client base and strong reputation for expert support and clear, practical advice. It is a credit to the way Adam and Ollie have run the business over the past decade. Adam has a clear vision for the future of Wem Tech Solutions, and it was a pleasure to support the company on this next chapter."
Rory Conwill, director at BRM, added: “My colleagues and I are very pleased to have supported Adam and Ollie on this deal. Wem Tech Solutions is high quality business, and I wish Adam and the wider team every success for the future."
