More than 100 jobs saved as sale secures Black Country biofuels business
More than 100 jobs have been saved following the sale of a Black Country biofuels business after it went into administration.
Lifecycle Oils Ltd, a collector and processor of used cooking oils for subsequent use as biofuels, went into administration last month with Mike Denny and Michael Magnay, of leading professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal, appointed as joint administrators on December 12 2025.
The company, which also sells fresh cooking oil to the catering and food manufacturing industry, has a production facility in Wednesbury and a head office based in Walsall as well as an additional 12 microsites across the UK.
Immediately after their appointment, the joint administrators completed a pre-packaged sale of the business and assets of Lifecycle Oils Ltd to Quatra UK Ltd.
Headquartered in Belgium, Quatra is one of Europe’s leading specialists in the collection and processing of used cooking oils and fats, operating across 10 countries.
All 116 employees have transferred to Quatra under TUPE - Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment).
The primary production facility, head office and remaining sites will continue to operate, save for six of the leasehold microsite premises.

Lifecycle Oils says it is working towards a world where every drop of used cooking oil becomes sustainable biofuel - partnering with businesses and councils across the UK to recover as much waste oil as possible.
The company provides a fully circular service, supplying the sustainably sourced oil, collecting the waste oil, then turning it into sustainable biofuels that can be used again to power vehicles, factories and more - resulting in less waste, cleaner drains and waterways, and lower carbon emissions.
