Aftermath of devastating fire still 'very raw' for owners of Bloxwich pork scratchings factory
The feelings around a devastating fire that left a pork scratchings factory severely damaged are still raw for the owners as they look at the next steps.
Nearly two days after the fire broke out at the factory in Bloxwich, the owners of G.Simmons & Sons Pork Scratchings are working to establish what happened and what they can do to re-establish the business, which has produced top quality scratchings from the site for more than 30 years.
Head Cook Tom Simmons said the feelings were still too raw at the moment and said that the focus was on finding out what started the fire, as well as how they could keep the family business going.
He said: "It is very raw and upsetting at the moment, but we are looking at what happened, who was there at the time and the measures they took.
"There has been a lot of support from the public, with a lot of people saying they hope we can be back up and running soon, so we are thankful for that."
