Yvonne, who has been part of the Merry Hill team for five decades, proudly led the ribbon-cutting celebrations on Thursday as the new-look store reopened.

The store has undergone a major redevelopment over recent months, bringing together four connected units to create a 100,000 sq. ft space that unites M&S Food, Fashion, Beauty, and Home under one roof.

Just in time for the festive season, customers can now explore brand-new menswear, home and Christmas gift shop departments, joining the womenswear, kidswear, beauty, Foodhall and coffee shop areas that opened earlier while final works were completed.

This follows the launch of the new market-style Foodhall, now 27 per cent larger, completed while work continued on neighbouring units.

M&S Merry Hill is one of 12 stores being renewed across the UK this year, alongside 16 new store openings and nine extensions, backed by a £300m investment.
