After a record-breaking harvest, national awards and a gift shop more akin to Santa’s grotto, the Staffordshire vineyard is uncorking plenty of reasons to celebrate this Christmas.
It’s been a standout year for Halfpenny Green Wine Estate owners Clive and Lisa Vickers and their team, who are celebrating their most successful harvest in the estate’s 42-year history.
As proof that the sun shines on the righteous, the vineyard’s 15 grape varieties ripened to perfection over the summer months, producing what Clive believes is the best vintage yet.
“The juice is absolutely delicious,” he said. “That’s always the best indication of a truly exceptional year.”
