The work is part of a major redevelopment of council housing in the area that will also see 205 out-dated 1960s maisonettes, within eight linked deck-access blocks, flattened and replaced with 188 new energy-efficient homes over two phases.

Phase one demolition has been completed by DSM Demolition and the site has been handed over to Keon, which is undertaking intensive underground surveys and liaising with utility businesses to work through the complex water, gas, electricity and telecommunications layouts.

Enabling works are expected to start later this year, with construction getting underway in spring 2026.

The regeneration will provide new two, three and four-bedroom council homes for rent, plus increased car parking and improved public open space at the heart of the estate, which will include a children’s play area, green gym and seating.
