Carlsberg Britvic announces plans to close landmark Wolverhampton site - here's when
Carlsberg Britvic has announced plans to close its Marston’s House office in Wolverhampton city centre in 2026.
The news comes just days after the 150-year-old Banks's Brewery brewed its final brew at the end of August, marking the end of an era for the iconic brewery which is now owned by Carlsberg Britvic.
Now, following a comprehensive review, the beer company has today announced plans to close its office at landmark Marston’s House, in Wolverhampton, towards the end of 2026 and move staff over to a new multi-million pound depot which is currently under construction at the new West Midlands Interchange (WMI).

There will be no immediate changes at Marston's House, which will continue to operate as normal for the time being, bosses at the beverage company have stressed.

Ultimately, however, it's expected that staff will move to the new Carlsberg Britvic West Midlands depot, located off Junction 12 of the M6 - just under 10 miles north of Wolverhampton, which will provide an operational base for teams based at Marston’s House when construction is completed in the final quarter of 2026.
Building work got underway recently on the new facility as part of a £4 million investment by Carlsberg Britvic which was announced in July as the first occupier of the new £2 billion West Midlands Interchange national logistics hub at Four Ashes.
Since the launch of Carlsberg Britvic in January this year, Breakspear Park in Hemel Hempstead became the business’ national head office.
The company, which formed following the merger of Carlsberg Marston’s Brewing Company and Britvic plc in the UK, said it made the decision to relocate after careful consideration of factors including increased hybrid working patterns and the closure of Banks’s Brewery in Wolverhampton.

Paul Davies, CEO at Carlsberg Britvic, said: “After a thorough review of our footprint, and with our head office now at Breakspear Park, we need to consolidate under-used office space so we can run a more efficient business for the long term.
“Also, we have deliberately allowed for a considerable period of time in which to plan carefully with our teams, and we will support every colleague through the transition.
"At the same time, we’re investing more than £4 million in our new West Midlands depot that is scheduled to open next year, providing a modern base close to Wolverhampton for teams in the area, and underlining our long-term commitment to the region.”
The business has said it will "ensure colleagues are fully supported" through the transition.
The Express & Star understands staff remaining at the brewery itself will leave the site for good on September 30.
Carlsberg Britvic has not confirmed how many jobs have been lost at its Wolverhampton brewing operation although the company said in late 2024 that 97 jobs were at risk ahead of the looming closure of Banks's Brewery.
The company said brewing would switch to Carlsberg Britvic's other sites in Burton-on-Trent and Northampton.
Carlsberg Britvic's city depot site in Grimstone Street, next to the former Springfield Brewery site, will close when the new 222,000 depot at the WMI is complete
