Historic family-run West Midlands farm launches new hotel
The Barn At Berryfields’ latest venture – The Barn Hotel – has opened its doors to visitors, adding to a diverse hospitality offering at the fourth-generation family farming business and creating 10 new jobs.
Featuring 33 bedrooms including two suites, The Barn Hotel is now welcoming customers - after several years of planning and hard work to convert an existing barn on the farm.

The new accommodation venue, located near the NEC, Birmingham Airport and M6 and M42 motorways, is the brainchild of brothers Tom, Joe and Will Barber, who have returned to the family business in Meriden over the last 15 years, to join their parents Chris and Fiona.
The farm has been in the family since 1934, during which time the Barbers have farmed both arable and livestock – including RSPCA Assured pigs and pedigree grass-fed Hereford cattle.
The family opened a farm shop on site in 2008 to showcase their home-reared produce and in the years that have followed the business has added a 2 AA Rosette restaurant and private function room, bar, pizzeria and artisan bakery, and event spaces.
Will Barber, director and co-owner at The Barn At Berryfields, said: “As a family-run independent business, we are thrilled to be launching our next venture – The Barn Hotel. Hospitality is something that we are very passionate about, and the new hotel is the natural next step in our diversification and one we are hugely proud of.
“Our mission is simple – to provide the most comfortable, quiet, clean and contemporary overnight stay, with all of the amenities you would expect. We can’t wait to welcome regional, national and international guests to come and eat, sleep and celebrate here at The Barn.”
The venue’s continued growth remains sustainable thanks to the introduction of new solar panel systems at the hotel and an energy-saving guest room management system, as well as EV charging points.
The new venture, which opened today (Friday August 15), has also generated 10 new jobs.
Katie Trout, director of destination, marketing and insight at the West Midlands Growth Company, said: “The family team at The Barn At Berryfields are a fantastic and successful example of the innovation, ingenuity and drive of our West Midlands tourism and hospitality venues.
“With more people coming to the region than ever before, our conference and events scene remaining popular and Birmingham Airport continuing to post record-breaking passenger figures, this new hotel adds to the great variety of overnight options available to our leisure and business events visitors.”
