First three lucky National Lottery retailers in the West Midlands ‘Share the Win’ with £6,000 awarded in prizes
Three lucky independent National Lottery retailers in the West Midlands have celebrated scooping prizes of their own in the lottery's ‘Share the Win’ initiative.
Mathiyalagan Mailvaganam, owner of Pape Supermarket in Birmingham, and Daljit Singh Khera, owner of Nisa Local in Wednesbury, both sold winning Set For Life tickets to lucky customers who each won £10,000 every month for a year. While Onkar Singh, who owns Normacs in Wolverhampton, made one of his players £101,000 richer by selling a winning EuroMillions ticket.

All three retailers have received a welcome £2,000 ‘bronze tier’ Share the Win award each.
They are the first National Lottery retailers in the region to take home a prize in the new incentive from Allwyn, the operator of The National Lottery.
The scheme, which launched in November 2024, rewards retailers who sell high tier (£50,000 or more) winning National Lottery tickets – like EuroMillions, Set For Life, Lotto, and Thunderball or National Lottery Scratch cards in their store.
Allwyn's director of commercial partnerships and retail sales, Alison Acquaye-Acford, congratulated the business bosses on their wins and said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be celebrating their bronze tier wins and the first ‘Share the Win’ stores in the West Midlands.
“Allwyn has awarded £269,000 in total to National Lottery ‘Share the Win’ retailers all over the UK, so we’re extending that winning feeling and good fortune further than ever before. It’s wonderful that retailers like Mathiyalagan, Daljit and Onkar are helping us to raise around £30 million every week for National Lottery-funded projects, while being in with a chance of winning fantastic prizes simply by selling tickets.”

Mathiyalagan Mailvaganam, at Pape Supermarket in Birmingham, said of the win: “This is amazing, we’re over the moon! This will make a massive difference, and we’ll donate our winnings to charity. We’re delighted to be able to help the community and connect with customers – especially when someone wins big!”

Daljit Singh Khera, at Nisa in Wednesbury, said: “This is a really nice surprise! One of my properties has had to have new flooring so this will take some pressure off. We provide a service and enjoy being a National Lottery retailer. It creates a sense of excitement and community in the store.”

Onkar Singh, at Normacs in Wolverhampton, added: “It was a total surprise! It’s so nice to reward retailers following a customer’s win. There’s a real excitement gained from big draws and rollovers that also excites customers - and to get winners in our shop is fantastic! We’re not sure what we are going to spend the money on, but it will be invested wisely.”
‘Share the Win’ is open to all National Lottery retailers where the winning ticketholder is happy to share details of their win.
The retailer’s ‘Share the Win’ prize is linked to the amount won by the playing customer. As well as the cash prizes, winning retailers receive a special ‘Big Winner Made Here’ poster and wall plaque, and for gold tier winners, a gold ‘Millionaire Made Here’ player station.
The three ‘Share the Win’ prize tiers for retailers are: gold for wins of £1m or more which will net lucky retailers the top prize of £10,000; silver for wins of between £250,000 up to £1m which will be worth £5,000 to shop owners; and bronze for wins of between £50,000 up to £250,000 which will see retailers pocket £2,000.
