Award-winning Wolverhampton training firm expands to meet demand
UK Fire Door Training, 2024 Express & Star Young Business of the Year winner, has expanded its practical training centre in response to record demand.
Since winning the award, the business has doubled in size, with practical training bookings surging and new investment flowing into its Wolverhampton facility.

The company, based at Modular Business Park, Enterprise Drive, Four Ashes, has redeveloped part of its headquarters to create a larger, more advanced facility for hands-on training, moving all practical sessions to a new first-floor space that can accommodate up to 12 learners per session, doubling its previous capacity.
As a result, the firm is set to train more than 1,200 practical learners in 2025, confirming its status as the UK’s largest dedicated provider of practical fire door training.
A further 2,000 people are trained online, bringing total annual learners to more than 3,000 people.
Managing director Jonny Millard said: “There’s now unprecedented demand for high-quality, hands-on training in the fire safety industry.
“The days of ticking boxes are over — employers want clear proof that carpenters and joiners are genuinely competent. That means having the skills, knowledge, experience, and behaviours to install fire doors correctly.
“Since launching in 2021, UK Fire Door Training has grown to become the UK’s largest provider of practical fire door training, and this expansion is a direct response to the standards the industry now expects.”
UK Fire Door Training delivers more than 80 practical sessions each month, with courses regularly booked months in advance covering topics such as fire door inspection and fire door installation.
Further developments may also follow, including potential expansion of new centres across the UK and the USA.
MD Jonny added. “There’s more to come. This is just the first phase of what’s ahead.”
Practical fire door training courses can be booked directly through the company’s website - ukfiredoortraining.com.
