The proposals will see land off Walsall Road, transformed into an Aldi food store with 126 car parking spaces, alongside outline planning permission for a care home to the rear of the site.

Aldi has written to over 2,000 local properties inviting them to attend its virtual public exhibition by visiting the aldiconsultation.co.uk/pelsall

The virtual exhibition will run from July 22-29, with a live chat feature hosted between 1pm-5pm on Thursday. People will be able to view the plans and provide their feedback via an online questionnaire.

These proposals will also bring around 40 to 50 new jobs for local people, as well as providing further employment opportunities during construction and in the supply chain.

Hamish Latchem, Aldi’s property director said: “We are delighted to announce our plans to open a new Aldi food store in Pelsall. With the nearest Aldi stores over two miles away in Brownhills and four miles away in Coppice Farm, a new store for Pelsall will not only mean saving money but travel time too.

“We are excited to bring our award-winning products and fresh produce to the community, improving customer choice and creating much-needed local jobs.

“We want to hear from local people before we submit a planning application to Walsall Council, and encourage residents to attend our virtual public exhibition and let us know their views on the proposals.”

People can also provide their feedback by contacting the project team on Freephone information line number 0800 298 7040 or emailing feedback@consultation-online.co.uk.
