Chamberlin profits and sales improve

Chamberlin, the specialist castings and engineering group based in Walsall, saw a significant improvement in performance in the second half of its financial year to the end of March.

The group has made progress made towards resolving the technical problems at its new machine shop on the Maple Leaf Industrial Estate .

Underlying earnings before interest and tax have moved from a loss in the first half to a profit in the second half, and the figureT for the full year is expected to be approximately £400,000.

Revenue in the second half was 10 per cent higher than in the first half, and is expected to total £37.7 million for the year – an increase of 17 per cent over 2016-2017

Production of petrol engine turbo charger components at the Walsall foundry is progressively increasing in line with strong demand. New products for machining are also being introduced.
