The extension to Jessup House in Station Court Business Park, off Girton Road, Cannock, would accommodate additional staff to service new contracts in the Midlands.

The company builds affordable homes, community care facilities, neighbourhood developments, commercial schemes and private housing.

It is also involved in land acquisition and offers planning, design and construction services.

The company is focused on the Midland region and puts down much of its success to understanding the particular demographics and requirements of the region, to maximise development opportunities. Another factor is a policy of using local contractors and suppliers in the immediate area of the project, which retains revenues in the locality.

The same localised policy also extends to creating apprenticeships with suppliers and Jessup’s own requirements.

The company is proud of its record of giving many young people the opportunity to make a rewarding career in the building industry.

The new head office extension of 100 sq metres is planned to accommodate up to 18 staff in the commercial department and if approved will be built in the summer of 2018.

Peter Butler, Jessup's general manager, said: “The additional space will provide us with the opportunity to expand without a major upheaval. This location is ideal for our operation next to the train station with sufficient parking."

The company is supporting the Government's home building targets and is a preferred partner of the government’s Homes and Communities Agency indelivering new homes in the Midlands. Including developments for Wolverhampton City Council, Dudley Council and Birmingham City Council.

Most of the company’s schemes are built on regenerated land.

Jessup, which was founded in 1988 by managing director Clive Jessup, has grown from a small start-up to an organisation that is delivering sites of up to 250 units for a range of clients in the West Midlands.

During the last 30 years Jessup has earned many industry awards, invested heavily in the local economy, built many new homes and communities, driven difficult regeneration projects, provided training and career opportunities for local people including many apprentices.

To celebrate 30 years in business it is aiming to run 30 charitable events and activities including sponsored marathons, taking on the Three Peaks Challenge and providing 30kg of food to local food banks.
