Profits rise for Rotala
Rotala, the owner of Black Country-based Diamond Bus, saw pre-tax profits rise by 18.1 per cent to £1.34 million for its latest half year.
In the six months to the end of May revenue also rose by 4.5 per cent to £28.6m.
Chairman John Gunn said the public transport group, which is based in Tividale, had continued to make good progress in the first half of 2017.
Contract wins announced in the half year are expected to produce additional estimated revenues of £4.7m in the full year
The level of revenue is 29 per cent higher than it was two years ago.
Rotala's purchase of Hansons (Wordsley) was completed on July 28 and it is also looking to buy a freehold site and 18 buses from a business based in Greater Manchester.
Investment this year has included buying new ticket machines for the West Midlands business announced and some replacement of vehicles
Its board is confident that the group remains on course to meet market expectations for the financial year.
