Briggs buys Irish business
Briggs Equipment has bought and Irish business as part of the company’s five-year growth strategy.
Dublin-based Irish Lift Trucks was part of the OHM Group in the Republic of Ireland.
It is a long established dealer of the Hyster range of materials handling equipment serving the Republic.
The deal enables Cannock-based Briggs and ILT to build on the experience and customer base that ILT possesses.
Being part of a larger Hyster dealer will allow ILT to grow and expand its offering more quickly than on a standalone basis, providing customers with a broader solution underpinned by Briggs Equipment’s market-leading service levels.
This move also allows Briggs to maintain a presence in the European Union at a time when the subject of European economic co-operation is going through a period of transition.

Briggs Equipment has a team of more than 600 engineers throughout the UK and also provides global equipment and maintenance support though its partnership with the Ministry of Defence.
In addition to being the Hyster-Yale Group’s exclusive UK distributor for the Hyster and Yale ranges of materials handling equipment, Briggs enjoys many other strategic partnerships with suppliers that provide industrial cleaning, aerial access, groundworks, agricultural plant and machinery that offer customers a total solution and services all the equipment it sells.
