Walsall builders plans to expand after new contracts
A Walsall-based construction company has announced significant expansion after winning several new contracts.
G Purchase Construction, which specialises in the social housing sector, has its headquarters in Bloxwich, and now has six other bases throughout the country, including a recently-opened office in Castle Vale, Birmingham.
Trevor Graham, partnering director at the firm – which is a leading provider of repairs, maintenance and refurbishment services – said that the business was founded in Walsall around 100 years ago and remained a family-owned concern.
"We have seen considerable growth in 2012, with some substantial contracts being won in the last few months," he said.
He explained that the Midlands was a key target area for the business, with new work awarded by a number of big-name housing groups in the region.
Leicester-based Asra Housing Group has appointed G Purchase Construction Ltd to deliver empty home refurbishments in Leicester and Northampton, covering around 3,900 properties.
The contract, which starts next month, is worth around £1.2m a year over five years, with a possible extension for a further five years. The company currently delivers responsive repairs and maintenance to all of Asra's 7,500 properties spread across the east Midlands.
G Purchase Construction Ltd has also been appointed to the contractor framework for Derby-based Futures Housing Group and has been successful in securing the conversion of a redundant care home into six general needs flats.
The project is valued at £350,000 and was due to begin in mid-September.
