A Stourbridge firm which sells T-shirts printed with Black Country sayings has been forced to scale down due to the economic slump.

The Obmik Company has closed its website for the time being and is now selling the shirts on ebay.

Bosses have also delayed ordering in new stock due to spiralling printing and materials costs and are selling only items already in stock. The move follows concern that people would not be willing to pay higher prices for the T-shirts.

The shirts are printed with a saying such as 'Bostin aye it', and the translation.

The firm was started by Kim Topham, who still runs it from her home in Pedmore. She said they were waiting to see if the market picked up before buying in new stock. "The thing we wanted to avoid was getting in debt," she added.
