Jobs to go at Castings

Jobs are to go at a major Black Country supplier to the automotive industry as the credit crunch claims yet another victim.

Castings Plc, which employs 400 at its Brownhills HQ, is set to announce job cuts next month.

The company, based in Lichfield Road, has just started a 30-day consultation process and is in talks with unions.

David Gawthorpe, chief executive at Castings Plc, said the firm was feeling the affects of a downturn in the car industry.
