Two national companies are considering leasing units on a £6 million business park on the outskirts of Kidderminster, it was revealed today.

Already two units on the Easter Park development on the Worcester Road have been sold to a local company, not yet named, which is said to be "relocating to the site". Today letting agent Andrew Cosnett said the agreements were likely to create up to 50 jobs and eventually when all nine units are sold or leased between 200 and 500 jobs could be created.

The Easter Group, developers of the site at Hoo Farm, paid towards a £1 million roundabout to be constructed.

Officials now hope that the business development of production, distribution, warehouse and office space will be completed at the end of May.Mr Cosnett said: "We are hoping that the first to move onto the site will do so at that time.

"The fact that two units have been sold to a local company which is planning to relocate and that we have two others units to let under offer to two national companies is a very good sign instead of the doom and gloom we often hear about.

"There has been significant interest in units on the site and it is a real sign of good news to be able to do deals with companies before the site is even completed.

"The developers have funded the large roundabout in front of the site which has added to its prominence and also helped create a safety feature on the road on the busy A449 commuter route which lead almost directly to Worcester and the M5.

"The fact that we have been able to exchange contracts and are about to with two national companies shows the prominent siting of this development and quality of the build.

"There will be a good mix of occupiers on the site which will really delight Wyre Forest councillors who are trying to attract new companies to the area to create more jobs."
