The budget speech will affect us all, whether it be increasing duties on cigarettes, alcohol and petrol or making changes to the complicated taxation laws.

The Chancellor is also widely expected to use his first budget to slap a "showroom tax" of as much as £2,000 on gas-guzzling 4X4s, as well as transforming air passenger duty into a tax on flights, in a bid to cut carbon dioxide emissions.

And there may be an announcements on plastic bags, persuading supermarkets to phase them out or charge for carriers, to encourage shoppers to waste less plastic.

We will offer extensive coverage with an up-to-the-minute budget tracker bringing you the news as it happens. We are also after your views on the budget both during and after the speech.

*l How will the changes affect your lives?

* Will you be better or worse off?

* Do you trust the government to make the right financial decisions?

* Will you be forced to give up smoking, cut down on your alcohol intake or think twice about making that journey in your car?

Whatever Mr Darling says tomorrow we want your instant reaction to the speech.

Your comments will appear on the website so you'll be able to see what other people have thought of the budget and the best will also appear in Thursday's Express & Star.
