About 30 jobs are being created at the Titan Europe wheel factory, near Kidderminister, as sales of wheels to makers of big construction equipment rose.
The firm employs about 400 people making wheels for construction and mining vehicles at Cookley – also the company HQ.
Chief executive Mike Akers said today that about 30 more people were being recruited to handle strong orders at the plant, which makes around £30 million worth of wheels a year.
He spoke as Titan Europe annual figures showed a 187.7 per cent sales rise to £368 million last year. Pre-tax profits were up 29.5 per cent to £11.4 million after the £100 million takeover of Italtractor ITM, an Italian firm making undercarriages for construction and agricultural vehicles.
Stripping out exceptional costs, such as the expense of merging the two businesses, pre-tax profits were up 75.8 per cent to £16 million.
Titan now employs about 2,800 people in the UK, Australia, Italy, Germany, India, Turkey and Brazil.
Titan's business was "on a roll", said Mr Akers, with sales to big construction and mining equipment firms driven by demand in the Far East and Eastern Europe.
He said his son, Chris, had been recruited from Land Rover to be manufacturing director at Cookley.
