Pool at Wolverhampton leisure centre remains closed as investigation into leak continues
The pool at a city leisure centre has remained closed to the public as investigations continue into a leak affecting the ceiling.
The main swimming pool at a leisure centre in Bilston has remained closed while investigations into a leak in the ceiling continue.
The pool at WV Active Bilston - Bert Williams was closed on Friday due to what was identified as a leak affecting the ceiling in the main pool and posing a health and safety risk.
Investigations have taken place and engineers were due to attend the site on Monday to carry out work to resolve the issue, while other facilities at the site remain available to members.
On Friday on WV Active’s official Facebook page, A spokesman said: “Further investigations have taken place and the main pool at WV Active Bilston-Bert Williams will be closed until further notice.
“Engineers are due on site Monday and we will keep you updated with the progress.
“Any sessions in the studio pool remain unaffected.
“In addition, the second floor male and female gym changing rooms and saunas are also temporarily unavailable.
“Alternative changing rooms and showers are available on the ground and first floor.
“We are working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and will provide updates when available.
“In the meantime, members are reminded they can continue to use the swimming facilities at WV Active Central as normal. Thank you for your understanding.”
