Speical-edition SUV has been created by Bentley’s Mulliner department.

Bentley is taking its Bentayga to the Swiss mountains with a new Chalet Edition.

Built in collaboration between the brand’s in-house bespoke division, Mulliner and media personality, the Gstaad Guy, the Bentayga Chalet Edition incorporates several revisions that take the standard Bentayga and pay tribute to ‘Alpine living’.

Based on the Bentayga Extended Wheelbase Azure model, the Chalet Edition features four individual seats inside – rather than a three-seater bench at the rear – and a combination of saffle leather, tweed detailing and diamond-quilted surfaces.

Hugo R. Chizlett, lead designer for Bentley Mulliner, explains: “The Chalet Edition values craftsmanship, materials and atmosphere over overt statements. Each choice – from palette to materials and finishes – reflects quiet confidence and understanding that true luxury is recognised without needing to be announced.”

Underneath, the Bentayga is available with either a 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 engine or a plug-in hybrid setup which combines a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine with an electric motor and battery which can bring around 25 miles of electric-only driving.

The Gstaad Guy’s Alpine flower motif is embroidered in red and green on the headrests and cushions, while the exterior is finished in a ‘Light Tudor Grey’ shade with a ‘Fireglow’ pinstripe to the lower trim. The Chalet Edition can also be specified with saddle leather boot protectors to help protect the load area.

Bentley says that the Bentayga Chalet Edition is available to order through Mulliner now, but hasn’t disclosed a price. However, the standard Bentayga EWB starts in the region of £200,000.
